Food at the Prudential Center

The Prudential Center is located in the central business district of Newark, New Jersey and is home to the New Jersey Devils.  Newark is right outside of New York City, which causes a natural rivalry between the Devils and the NY Islanders and Rangers. The Devils moved to the Prudential Center in Newark after the 2007-08 season.  The team also has regional rivalries with Philadelphia and Boston along with the two teams from NY, as they are all in the northeast corridor.  The restaurants and concession stands in the Prudential Center, named for the Prudential Insurance Company, offer lots of great menu items to eat and drink as you take in a Devils game.   Reviews have shown that the arena is a great place to take the family for an evening, with lots of kid friendly areas and places to eat.

The restaurants and concession stands inside the Prudential Center offer a great selection of arena classics including burgers, hot dogs, nachos, fries, ice cream, chicken tenders and sandwiches, as well as some specialty food items.  If you like to eat, the arena has plenty to offer. Some of the specialty places within the Prudential Center are  Bayonne Diner for local favorites like corned beef Reubens and chips, the Corner Market, for salads and wraps, and The Board Walk for a taste of Jersey Shore mainstays.  You can definitely eat more than one meal if you time it right when you go to the Prudential Center.

If you’re at a New Jersey Devils game and you want to eat something you’ll love and you can share, you have to try sliders from Slider House Rules inside the Prudential Center in Newark.  You and your friends or family can order up a variety and all get to try the many flavors that are offered and trade reviews.  If you’d like to grab a drink to go with those fun little sandwiches, there’s the Wine Bar, the Heineken Bar, and the Budweiser Bar for all of your libation needs.  If you want something sweet as part of what you eat, stop at one of the Welsh Farms stands for a treat.  The 2021 Prudential Center menu has something for everyone.

There are a ton of local restaurants and watering holes near the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, (as opposed to the one in Boston) that are popular with people heading to a New Jersey Devils hockey game.  So if you’d like to eat or drink before you head into the arena, you definitely have options.  If you’d like to try some German specialties that have gotten rave reviews, Redd’s Biergarten is the perfect spot.  For more European ambiance, the Chateau of Spain Restaurant is just a block from the Prudential Center.  If you want a sign as to which restaurant to choose and you want your team to come out on to, why not go to Bello’s Pub and Grill, the first gastropub in Newark?
