Nationwide Arena, home ice of the Columbus Blue Jackets, is located in the  Arena District, which is an area of Columbus, Ohio containing bars, restaurants, office space and residential buildings. Huntington Park, the home of the triple-A baseball Columbus Clippers, is also located in the Arena District.  Nationwide Arena opened in September of 2000 and has been home of the Columbus Blue Jackets ever since.   The Blue Jackets play in the Eastern Conference’s Metropolitan Division and are affiliated with the Cleveland Monsters of the AHL.  Like many NHL arenas, Nationwide boasts a wide variety of food, dining, and drink options inside and around the venue.

Nationwide Arena Food & Concession Stands

Nationwide Arena has concession stands and eateries along both the main and upper concourses, making it convenient for fans watching hockey games to grab a bite throughout the game.  Arena favorites like hot dogs, specialty burgers, beer, soda, popcorn, nachos, and pizza are all available. The food options inside the Nationwide Arena also include gluten free and other choices for people with specific dietary needs.  Fans of the Columbus Blue Jackets can also enjoy donuts from Tim Horton’s, ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery, Skyline Chili, and other popular lunch and dinner items like bratwursts, cheese fries, and Philly cheese steak sandwiches.

Classic Food at Nationwide Arena

In Columbus, Ohio, Skyline Chili is probably the most famous dish from that area of the country, and a must have if you’re attending a Columbus Blue Jackets game or any event at Nationwide Arena.  If you’ve already tried Skyline Chili on a previous trip to town, the pulled pork, chicken, and brisket are excellent choices from Arena Smokehouse.  Local fans will also point you to Bob Evans, who supplies the bratwurst offerings at Nationwide Arena. Arena management has made sure that fans can get what they want on the main concourse as well as the upper concourse during a game.  So don’t worry about where your seats might be, your food options and sight lines will both be great.

Downtown Columbus, Ohio has gone out of its way to make sure fans and visitors have an excellent experience when they visit the Arena District.  Not far from the venue, the local restaurants and watering holes near Nationwide Arena cater to people headed to a Columbus Blue Jackets hockey game.   There are several eateries just steps away from Nationwide Arena.  If you’re looking for a Mexican restaurant, Nada is the place to go.  Burgers, steaks, and chops more your style before a game? Ted’s Montana Grill has what you need.  Interested in something from a little farther away?  Rodizio Grill serves up Brazilian specialties and great drinks.  All of these places are located right in the downtown area and are just a one or two-minute walk to the venue.
